Healthier, Younger Skin With Hyaluronic Acid

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

A carbohydrate, hyaluronic acid is made  naturally in the body and is found  in  each  cell. Scientifically  , it’s categorized  as a glycosaminoglycan and is made up of  of glucuronic and N-acetyl glucosamine. It requires  approximately three days for each hyaluronic acid molecule to decompose  and be excreted from the body, so it must be continually replenished . Around  50 percent of the body’s hyaluronic acid is located  in both the deep underlying layer and the visible epidermal top layer of skin. With age, the skin loses its capability  to maintain high concentrations of hyaluronic acid, and therefore  the ability to hold water, leaving skin rough, dull and potentially more wrinkled  .

In skin, hyaluronic acid acts as a space filler, binding to water and visibly diminishing  the look of lines and wrinkles. It also helps transport nutrients to skin cells, further  enhancing  healthy skin, and even a healthier scalp. In 2003, the FDA  approved hyaluronic acid injections to temporarily smooth lines  by adding volume under the skin. A recent intensive  study conducted at the University of Michigan Medical School looked at skin samples taken from subjects  at intervals of 4 and 13 weeks after receiving injections of hyaluronic acid. The scientists  found that hyaluronic acid induced new collagen production by stretching the skin cells that secrete proteins, promoting  growth factors and stopping  collagen breakdown.

In 2002, ABC’s 20/20 did  a program  called “The Village of Long Life” where  they studied the Japanese village of Yazuri Hara where 10 % of the population is at least 85  . Scientists believe that the residents’ unusual diet of sticky starches like sweet potatoes (carbohydrates) promotes  the production of hyaluronic acid, therefore  keeping the residents of the village looking younger  .

Hyaluronic acid products like Episilk™ can help skin nourish  its hyaluronic acid quotient immediately . They contain arguably the highest  bioavailable form of non-animal hyaluronic acid, and they have the studies to prove their topical HA products actually are absorbed into the deepest layers of the skin.

AN A-HA MOMENT

For the ultimate HA moisturizer, start with Episilk PHA (pure hyaluronic acid) Serum to rejuvenate skin from the inside out, enhancing  tone and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. By supplying  skin with suppleness and elasticity, this all  natural hyaluronic acid facial serum lifts and firms.

To assist in relaxing  expression lines and minimize  the appearance of wrinkles, the Episilk FRS (facial relax serum) consolidates  the power of hyaluronic acid with a unique hexapeptide called Argireline® that has been proven  to relax and smooth lines around the eyes, forehead and mouth. Researchers believe that Argireline, a chain of six amino acids and one of the most prized  natural ingredients in anti-aging skin care, works to inhibit the release of neurotransmitters that tell facial muscles to tense. When your face relaxes, you have noticeably reduced wrinkles and lines.

The Episilk IFL (instant facelift) Serum uses Pepha-Tight® along with HA Pepha to support skin’s natural firmness and vitality. Pehpa-Tight is special  algae extract that tightens skin immediately and strengthens the skin’s connective tissue with long-term use. Its usefulness  was demonstrated in an in vivo study with 30 volunteers during two weeks, with almost  70 percent noticing   excellent  or good tightening effects.

Episilk also offers a DCL (dark circle lightening) Serum with Eyeseryl® and Regu® Age to help lessen the appearance of dark circles; ASL (age spot lightening) Serum with Gigwhite™, a special blend of seven alpine plants shown to minimize  the appearance of age spots; and Q10 Age Defense Serum with Coenzyme Q10, a super-antioxidant that works to nourish and rejuvenate skin’s vitality and tone.
