Sunday, May 8th, 2011

One of the more distressing side effects of having an acne ridden face is having those ugly blackheads making your appearance on your nose and cheeks. That is the reason it is extremely essential that you know how to get rid of those nose blackheads in an aspect of an efficient manner.

Don’t ever squeeze nose blackheads. It is very tempting. People who suffer from acne often forget that squeezing only spreads infection as they squeeze their pimples so often. It will, however only aggravate the problem. Blackheads should only be removed in a gentle way that will prevent scarring.

Some people are under the impression that scrubbing their noses can remove the blackheads. This harsh treatment is going to harm the skin, and even though the blackheads may appear to have been cleaned out, they are going to come back again to irritate you another day. That is the reason why one needs to make sure that a complete cleansing of blackheads is done through clearing out your kidneys and liver. This means drinking plenty of water.

A dust particle blocks a pore; the oils secreted by the sebaceous glands under the skin cannot be eliminated through the blocked pore. There you are, with blackheads all over your nose. Plenty of perspiration in a healthy skin will not allow any grime or dust to block up the pores and cause nose blackheads. That means you need to do a bit of exercising to open up the pores.

You might want to apply a paste of baking soda and water to these nose blackheads regularly, and wait until the paste is dry, before washing the affected area with lukewarm water. Then wash the skin with ice water to close all the pores. A continuous and regular use of this paste can show good results.

You can also try getting rid of the nose blackheads by rubbing the affected areas with banana peel. This is a natural way to wipe those blackheads without resort to cotton balls or medicated cleansing pads.

Some people have also found commercial blackhead remover strips to be extremely useful. Not only do they remove the excess oil from the pores, but also they are useful to get rid of blackheads which are harder to remove. You will see a number of nose blackheads sticking to the strip once it has been peeled off.

There is another easy way to get rid of the nose blackheads – steam them out! You just have to place a washcloth, rinsed in hot water on your nose for 15 minutes. This is going to soften the skin so much that the blackheads can be removed with a cleanser and cotton ball.

In some cases, however, people struggle to get rid of their nose blackheads, regardless of the method used. They should see a dermatologist and follow medical advice for removing blackheads. A regular skin maintenance routine will further lessen the appearance of blackheads in future.

Some Natural Acne Cures – Get Rid of Acne Once And For All

Friday, May 6th, 2011

Acne is a very common skin problem which affects more than half of people at some point in their lives. There are many different treatments available to keep this condition under control, including a wide variety of natural acne cures which can be very effective. In many cases, the natural treatments for acne are a better choice than the traditional acne remedies available over the counter at pharmacies.

Many people think that the only way to get relief from their acne is to use the over the counter acne creams and prescription medications available from dermatologists. It is true that many of these treatments can be effective, but they are hardly the only options available to consumers looking for effective acne treatments. By and large, the natural acne cures work as well as the prescription and over the counter products – and often better!

In fact, it is usually better to steer clear of the synthetic acne remedies; using an all natural treatment for acne means that you will not risk any of the side effects that the conventional products can potentially cause. Natural products are free of synthetic chemicals and impurities – if you have been looking for a natural treatment for your skin, keep reading for a look at some of the most popular natural acne cures:

An herbal diet is one of the most underrated natural acne cures. By taking part in an herbal diet that is free of scores of impurities and processed items, you will not be taking in substances that can upset your body’s hormonal balance. As a result, the potential for pimple breakouts will be equally reduced.

Water: Being properly hydrated is another of the natural acne cures which is incredibly simple, yet effective. Dehydration leads to dry skin which is easily irritated and prone to breakouts. Drink plenty of water every day to control acne and keep breakouts to a minimum. You should also try to keep your salt intake low, since salt promotes dehydration.

Vitamins: Make sure to eat a diet which is rich in the vitamins A and E; take supplements if necessary. You can also apply these vitamins directly to the affected area by cutting open vitamin gel caps. Used as a topical application, these vitamins can significantly reduce redness and swelling and reduce the duration of breakouts.

Cucumber and orange peel are natural acne cures which are perhaps a little less well known than some others, but they can work very well for smaller breakouts. Simply rub these on the affected area to help control your acne.

Your kitchen also contains some other effective natural treatments for acne. These include lemon juice: fresh lemon juice applied on the skin can be a very useful treatment. Another of the natural acne cures which you probably have in your own home already is garlic. Apply fresh crushed garlic to your skin to reduce inflammation and help get rid of pimples – garlic has natural antibacterial properties that can help to fight back against this common skin problem.

The skin responds to this assault by producing more oil, and this unfortunately can result in more acne. Many people have found that once they switch to a less harsh soap – or stop using soap on their faces altogether – that their acne greatly improves.

Another natural acne remedy is tea tree oil, which is available on its own or as a major ingredient in soap or cleansers. Tea tree oil will clean an area and also act as an antibacterial agent on your skin. This can make sure that the acne that you have will not grow further inflamed and become more difficult or more widespread.

Another benefit of using tea tree oil, is that it helps your skin not to itch as it heals, which makes it much easier to stop scratching at your face. A word of caution, though: Undiluted tea tree oil can be quite harsh, so be sure to dilute it or apply it with care.

Garlic is another excellent natural acne remedy. While garlic has been widely known as a cure all for many conditions, it also has antibacterial properties. Eating garlic raw is a wonderful way to receive its benefits, but if the taste is too strong for you, you can simply take a peeled clove, mash it to a paste, and then liberally apply it to the affected areas.

There might be a sting, but it should be relatively mild. After the paste has sat for a little bit, rinse it off with warm water.

Although finding a natural acne remedy that works best for you can take some time, there are a great many to try. With all the choices available, there’s no reason to give up if the first few don’t give you the results you want; it’s important to be proactive.

You won’t know if one or more of them is going to work for you and your particular skin type and acne outbreak if you don’t go out there and try them! Keep track of what you have tried, along with what works, how well it worked, and what didn’t.

When looking for a way to get clean, clear, healthy skin, remember that natural remedies are a good choice for you and your body.

Cystic Acne Treatment – Helpful Tips

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

You’ve probably heard of acne, but have you ever heard of cystic acne? This is what we know as an advanced acne, and it is a bit more severe. It consists of boils on the face, and if it’s not taken care of right away, it could cause even more problems. Some of those problems involving scarring on the face.

Right now there are studies being carried out regarding the elusive causes of cystic acne. Right now however, the tests show that it is an outbreak of human hormones. These hormones interact with oil glands in the skin, causing them to produce an excess of oil.

After that the oil glands will begin to swell. As they swell, they will begin to harden beneath the skin of the face.

These oil glands are then inflamed, and they are in fact infected. At this point they are red ad extremely painful. This is what we call cystic acne, and they appear as red lesions.

It’s somewhat hard to actually treat cystic acne, though a dermatologist might be able to help you. He or she will tell you to use pharmaceutical drugs such as Isotretinoin, or even antibiotics that will fight your infection.

It may be very tempting to squeeze the cystic acne, to get rid of all the extra infectious matter present in it, as well as get some relief from the pain and pressure. However, this is the most futile thing you can do. Not only are you going to be left with a scar, but you will have this acne condition flaring up into an even more severe form. Squeezed cysts are more painful and they take longer to heal.

Cystic acne treatment means not using heavy makeup and moisturizers around the affected area. The chemical-based makeup is only going to aggravate an already severe problem. Additionally, continuous exfoliation of the skin can reduce the collection of dead skin cells in that area, however make sure that you take care when scrubbing infected areas of the skin. It is best to wash with warm water and a gentle antiseptic soap specially formulated for acne.

Going out in the sun is also not a good idea when you are suffering from cystic acne. That infected portion of the skin is tender enough to get burnt. You do not want to suffer from sunburn over and above a bad case of cystic acne, do you? If you really need to go out in the sun, cover the infected skin portions with cucumber juice, so that they remain moisturized but do not suffer much from the onslaught of the summer heat, dust and grime.

A natural cystic acne treatment that is very effective for drying up this form of skin infection can be used. Wash your face with a mixture made up of 1 teaspoon each of buttermilk, honey and turmeric in 2 parts of chickpea (white Gram) flour.

This healing and antiseptic scrub does wonders in getting rid of the painful cysts. This is also the best natural exfoliating agent, as well as natural cleanser that can be found in many natural beauty recipe books.
